  3. What is CMOS?

CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, and is one of the newest technologies which was invented in 1996. Among the pros of CMOS sensors are that they are physically smaller and cheaper than CCD sensors. On the other hand, CMOS sensors' quality and resolution rate are not as good as CCD sensors. However, CMOS still has a lot of room for improvement, and the result should be expected in the near future. AME's CU-98R, CU-68R, CU-320, and VP-2001 are all CMOS sensors PC Cameras, to name just a few.

  4. Is it possible to use a converter to change printer port to USB port

Yes. There is such a converter in the market.

  5. What is the longest length for a USB cable?

The longest length for a USB cable is 5 meters. You can add a hub to enhance its signal, but the longest length is still 5 meters.

  6. GOTCHA security system is too complicated to use, can you please provide a detailed user guide?

GOTCHA is mainly for security/surveillance and snapshots, therefore we suggest you use Live Monitor for security functions.

  7. Is there software that allows two or more PC cameras to be used in a computer at the same time?

It would depend on the interface. Firewire port supports two or more Firewire PC cameras to be used in a computer at the same time, whereas USB port only supports one PC camera at a time. Therefore, you can connect two or more AME's CF-2000 (IEEE1394) PC cameras on one PC at the same time, where you can only support one USB PC camera at a time.

  8. What are the highest pixels for your PC Cameras?

Our current PC cameras' highest resolution is 800K pixels.

  9. Do all the products support USB 1.1? If USB upgrades in the future, do we need to upgrades our software in order to support USB?

Yes, usually we only need to upgrade software instead of PC Cameras' drivers when USB device is upgraded from USB 1.1 to USB 2.0. However, since the USB 2.0 uses different technology, thus you will need to have different drivers and an extra USB 2.0 PCI card to use USB 2.0 devices.

  10. If logged out improperly when using software, why is it needed to restart the computer to make it work again?

It is because when you forcefully logged out, your PC Camera is shut down improperly, thus device conflict will occur. Therefore you need to restart the computer to correct that problem.

Only CU-98A and CU-99A drivers are interchangeable, but other aren't.
